From Succession to Success: Building a Future-Ready Leadership Pipeline at Your School
One of the most disruptive things that can happen at a school is the sudden need to replace a leader. A proper succession plan can mitigate disruption and ensure your school — and the community you serve — experiences a smooth transition. Programs developed by the Florida Charter School Alliance (FCSA) and Doral College are successfully preparing high-quality future charter school leaders. This is particularly valuable for independent schools that have identified a potential school leader but lack the bandwidth to develop that person’s talents and skill base.

Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK)
Florida was one of the first states in the country to offer free prekindergarten for all 4-year-olds regardless of family income. Since the program began in 2005-06, more than 2.6 million children have benefited from the VPK. Data collected by the Department of Education shows that children who participate in VPK are more likely to enter kindergarten ready for school, setting them on a path to learn, graduate and succeed. Private, public and charter schools, private child care centers and specialized instructional services providers may offer VPK. Providers contract with their early learning coalition to ensure the delivery of a high-quality program led by qualified instructors. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the VPK program, including the benefits of becoming a VPK Provider.

Becoming Your Own LEA
Are you a charter school leader looking to maximize funding and autonomy? Florida’s statute allows eligible charter schools to become their own Local Education Agency (LEA), opening the door to significantly increased federal funding. Currently, seven organizations in Florida have embraced this opportunity, reaping the benefits that come with independence.
However, transitioning to an LEA is not without its challenges. It requires careful planning, an understanding of various regulations, and adherence to deadlines and paperwork requirements. To navigate this complex process successfully, you need the right tools and insights.
Join us for an informative session hosted by the Florida Charter Institute, where we’ll unveil our newly released LEA Manual—a comprehensive reference guide that outlines the essential requirements and offers valuable tips for schools considering this change. Our presentation will cover the fundamentals of what it means to serve as an independent LEA, along with crucial considerations to help you determine if this step is the right move for your school.
Don’t miss this opportunity to empower your school with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive as an independent LEA. Join us and take the first step toward unlocking new funding potential and greater autonomy!

Overcoming Industry Transformational Challenges in Education
The education infrastructure, with the expansion of school choice initiatives, requires a new approach to successfully acquire and retain the numerous human capital disciplines needed to successfully meet or exceed the diverse and changing customer needs, while keeping the organization on a positive financial footing.
School choice initiatives continue to empower parents to enroll their children in an educational setting they deem best for their children's needs. This creates a customer-driven market with diverse educational system options.
The beauty of this climate is that it spawns innovation and efficiency in education and forces us to optimize systems while focusing on C.V.O.s ("Customer Value Outcomes").
