Effective Governance Oversight is Integral to Charter School Performance
Authorizers give the charter to the board, yet many authorizers have little to no contact with the boards, unless there is an issue. The board's role is critical to the success and sustainability of the school, yet far too often authorizers do not have the time nor the tools to assess where boards are and what they need to better operate. A board check up is much easier and more effective than a board emergency. This presentation will discuss and share how using a practical rubric for assessing governance is a necessary oversight tool.
