General Information

Why should I attend?

If you are interested in the success of charter schools and the choice they give students in Florida, you should attend. Sessions are targeted at authorizers, administrators, educators, and charter school stakeholders.

When and where will the conference be held?

The Florida Charter School Conference will be held November 14-16, 2011, at the DoubleTree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

How much does registration cost and what is the deadline?

If you register by October 21, 2011, the registration cost is $195 per attendee. After that date you will need to register onsite at the higher rate of $250 per attendee.

What should I wear?

The Florida Charter School Conference is a professional development opportunity. Business casual is appropriate.


Parking is complimentary for conference participants who self-park. Valet Parking is $14.00 and Bus/ Motor Coach parking is $25.00.
The parking lot at the DoubleTree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando is gated. Please follow these directions to avoid the regular parking fee.
• If you are staying at the hotel, please check in before parking, as your room key will provide you access to the parking lot. To receive the complimentary parking, you must make your room reservation using the the event code.
• If you are driving in for the day, proceed into the parking lot after taking a ticket at the gate, then take your ticket to the conference registration desk for validation.

Conference Check In

When you arrive, please check in at the registration desk located in the Conference Center to pick up your badge, conference bag and program.

Information Desk

Stop by the FCSC Information Desk in the Conference Center if you have questions, concerns, or Lost & Found items during the conference.

Conference Etiquette

Please be respectful of your fellow attendees and presenters by turning your cellular devices to silent or off before entering session rooms.
Please refraing from holding individual conversations during presentations, as they make it difficult to hear the presenter.
The building is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted outside the building.

Inservice Credit

All Florida school districts have procedures in place to assist you in earning inservice credits towards the renewal of your FDOE teaching certificate. Please contact your district's staff development director to determine your district's procedure.
